Hey, I’m Jan Carden!

So many of the women I work with are competent and capable. They come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected from themselves after years of caring for others, managing responsibilities, and pushing through stress.

I am a licensed mental health therapist, certified EMDR therapist, parent coach, and certified yoga instructor. I specialize in working with women navigating anxiety, life transitions, parent stress, relationship challenges, and the lasting impact of difficult or overwhelming experiences. My work is grounded in nervous system science and mindfulness-based practices. I help women understand what is happening in their bodies – why they feel overwhelmed, shut down, reactive, or exhausted – and more importantly, how to shift those patterns.

As a certified EMDR therapist, I also help women process unresolved experiences that may still be shaping present-day reactions. When we clear what feels “stuck” women often experience more freedom, confidence, and emotional ease.

My approach integrates traditional psychotherapy, EMDR, mindfulness, and body-based awareness, and practical tools you can use in your daily life.

Therapy is not intended to "fix" individuals. Instead, it focuses on:

• Building emotional resilience

• Strengthening self-trust

• Untangling unhelpful patterns

• Processing experiences that continue to evoke emotional responses

• Developing practical tools for stress regulation

• Cultivating more self-compassion
